When deploying the Desk Pro G2, consider the position of the collaboration display and the distance between people and the device. The foot stand allows for express tabletop deployment or it can be mounted on the wall to keep the huddle room table free of technology.

When installing the Desk Pro G2 on the wall with the add-on VESA mount, ensure it’s mounted at a height that maintains proper ergonomics for in-room participants and that it’s installed at a distance where users can interact with the touch display.

Enhance your audio experience with an acoustically absorbing suspended ceiling panel along with acoustical wall panels on adjoining walls. For rooms with parallel glass walls, use heavy curtains or special transparent acoustic panels. Decorative elements like the wooden batten pattern can be effectively used as wall absorbers. To dampen the sound of footsteps and moving chairs, we recommend carpeting on the floor.

The video system conceals an 8-element internal microphone array and a 3-channel, directional speaker system optimized for use in small, shared spaces, individual workstations, and smaller personal office environments. Make sure that participants remain within 2.5m from the device to maintain optimal microphone coverage. The device can also be paired with USB or Bluetooth headsets for frictionless meetings in open or semi-open huddle spaces and meeting pods.

To ensure meeting participants properly illuminated, they should be lit from the front (fill light), top (key light), and back (backlight). For optimal visibility, eye contact, subject highlighting, and scene depth, use glare-free luminaries with a beam angle of 90°or wider to evenly distribute light throughout the room.

We recommend using a light intensity of 400-500 lux, measured vertically, to clearly capture facial features, and 700-900 lux for optimal brightness on horizontal work surfaces. Room lighting should be even, and a light color temperature of 4000 K is generally suitable for most scenarios. For accurate color representation of skin tones and interiors, use a color rendering index (CRI) of 85 or better.

When deploying the Room Bar, consider the position of the video bar, screen(s), and the distance between people and the device. To get the best viewing angle, we recommend placing the video bar above the display, but not too high to avoid a top-down viewing angle effect.

The video bar can be placed below the screen when using a larger display. When installing it under the screen, make sure the screen isn’t mounted too high so that proper ergonomics can be maintained for in-room participants.

If participants are seated further or the room features suboptimal acoustic conditions, we recommend adding a Cisco table or ceiling microphone to ensure the best audio experience.

You can mount the video bar to the screen or on the wall with a single mounting unit included in the package. To ensure a clean setup without visible cabling, you should elevate power and data outlets. If wall mounting is not an option, you can install a free-standing setup or mount it on an AV credenza, available from Cisco partners.
